    3. June, to reformat a floppy click start, programs, MS-DOS then type a:\ enter when you see A:\ type format A it should reformat the disk in the A drive WARNING WARNING WARNING if you have not successfully changed your drive to A and don't see the A:\ by typing format you might format your C drive which will wipe out EVERYTHING. Be very careful. To un-write protect a floppy as you face your floppy disc look at the right top corner...you should be able to see a black space blocking the hole. If you see the hole instead, you have write=protected the disk and you will have to turn the disk over and slide the little button until it covers the hole. Hint...Read your dos manual to see how to reformat and include the system file. ----- Original Message ----- From: "June Ridsdale" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, November 04, 2002 12:05 PM Subject: [NEWGEN] FLOPPY A PROBLEM : Hi everyone: : My Floppy A problem: : : When I attempt to save something [and specifically an FTM back up] I get the message 'Disc is write protected, Turn off the Write Protection and Try again]. 3. Dear Bill: Again I thank you for this and all other times you have come to my rescue. The additional tip to be careful not to format the C Drive is good for me - arms me in advance for a huge problem.
