This list is beginning to lose its usefulness and therefore my efforts to keep it alive. How about a little CPR from those who have benefited from its existence in the past! Let's start with a MOST WANTED posting! Let's follow that with MY MOST FAVORITE URL (Since we all know Cyndi wins that hands down, we can perhaps list some others). Next we will do MY FAVORITE LIST. Again since we know that NEWGEN is the best will skip it. This patient is turning blue, so if you don't want it to pass on, you had better participate. Help!!! I'm am trying to trace my great grandfather and have hit a brickwall. This is what I know. John Flynn was supposedly born in 1867 or '69. According to the 1900 Oklahoma census he was born in the state of Illinois . I know that he lived in the Choctaw Nation in 1892 w/his first wife, Ida Reynolds, around Featherston because that is where their children were born. He married his second wife in 1898 and their children were born around the Centrahoma and Coalgate area. John is reported to have died in 1909 in the Coalgate area and is supposedly buried in the Nixon cemetery near there. I've looked through old newspapers for a record of his death, but no luck. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what I might try next. I'm trying to find who his family was and how he came to be in Oklahoma. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sheryl
Does anyone know where the above town is located (county and what city<ies> it is near). I have been told that the HANTON (HANTEN) family that came from Luxembourg to Blackhawk County, Iowa went there later. Any help on this location or the family would be helpful. Sansu

Where is Wings5. Have had some mail returned. Dr. Bill Bill@Dr-Fox.Com WebSite {http://www.dr-fox.com}
It seems MCI pulled a fast one without our knowledge or permission to change our billing, and therefore we were disconnected for the past two days. It is getting straightened out now, but as a result, I have lost all of my emails for the past two days, and wouldn't you know it, I had sent out some important things and was also waiting for some important news. So if anyone has wondered why I have not responded, now you know. Please contact me again. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Does anyone know how I can get the lost emails? Thanks, Linda Kay

I was wondering if some one would be kind enough to do a look up for me please? In the Lisburn(Ireland) Herald. Feb 28th 1931. For a death notice of John Criglington. Many thanks Wendy aussie land. w_grant@optusnet.com.au
I am forwarding this for all to see. Gloria Hi everyone, Again, I'm sending this to all 17 of the discussion groups I coordinate. This is the latest update on Family Discovery.com ... Monday, 18 Sep, I received a message from Gene Olson, the man I spoke of in my last message who is assisting in the investigation of FamilyDiscovery.com. Gene has opened a website <http://gene_olson.tripod.com> for the express purpose of keeping everyone informed of what's happening re: the above. This is a site you will probably want to bookmark just so you can stay abreast. Most of you who have questions will certainly have them answered by visiting Gene's site. I spoke with him yesterday and he told me he'll keep the site updated as new information arrives to him. There, you'll find two toll-free numbers both of which, Gene has told me, you are free to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, he also said that when the need for sleep arrives, they'll turn the phone ringers off. So, if you don't get an answer, simply try again later. (The second of the two toll-free numbers is connected to an answering machine; the first isn't.) CRITICAL: Physical evidence is desperately needed! If you are a webmaster/mistress whose site has been linked to by Family Discovery, please send Gene an affidavit stating what pages/documents, etc. is being "stolen" from your site, how many hours you invested in extracting the information from the original documents, and give the dollar value of your work (including setting up your pages). The purpose of this is to show the legal authorities the aggregate total of monetary worth Family Discovery is taking from all of you. If you already subscribed to Family Discovery, please do NOT feel so embarrassed that you refuse to say anything. YOU ARE _NOT_ ALONE IN THIS! Many people were taken in by their promotion, and you are just one of a group who now hold vital information to help get this company shut down and prosecuted! You have the physical evidence to prove you were scammed - that proof being a copy of your cancelled check or credit card statement. Did you receive one of the company's promotional emails? If so, you should know that FamilyDiscovery.com doesn't have an ISP like Geocities or Tripod; theirs is a private domain. However, messages of spam abuse, etc. can be forwarded WITH THE HEADERS to their originator of DNS Central <abuse@dnscentral.com>. Since this company already had one private domain and they were removed from it, I figure DNS Central was probably the ones who removed him and will be the same agency to do so again. The idea is to get enough messages to DNS Central that they have to keep moving that company - that sooner or later someone will get the message there and block him from service. Gene's site will have instructions online on how to send your message WITH THE HEADERS on it. This investigation cannot go forward unless we, as the genealogical community, come together and assist in this effort and help Gene. He told me he's received calls from all over, that people ARE helping. The idea now is not to let the ball slow down, but keep it going full force. We CAN do this if we all work together as one voice. But that physical proof has GOT to come forward. ...And, in case you're interested, Gene has a rear-shot photo of Elias Abodeeley on his website. If you can't believe all this is happening, I think you're going to be even more non-plussed once you see the picture and read the caption beneath. With Gene opening his pages, this will probably be my last update message to all of you unless something radical breaks loose. Otherwise, it's on to genealogy! :) If you wish to forward this message and/or my warning message of Monday, 17 Sep ... consider this my permission to do so for both. Colleen Pustola ladyaudris@earthlink.net
Okay...I'm not sure, but I think the reason the counter isn't always going up for ya'll is that your computers are 1.) storing a copy of the page in the Cache...so hold the Shift key and click on Refresh and/or 2.) the count device may attempt to keep track of you by cookies...try deleting your cookies and then go back...see if it increments then... Just some random ideas...I don't really know. Thomas simers1@juno.com
All you Foxy ones..... Remember, this is the night we all meet in our own private 'stress free' chat room. 8:00 PM EDST I am waiting for you in the bottom room, Dr. Fox Genealogy Chat...... Bunny

I am forwarding this from the Bower surname list I am on to warn other folks. Gloria FamilyDiscovery.com has resurfaced at a new address and is back in operation at a new URL again. Several of the members on the 16 lists I coordinate have already been scammed by this company. WARNING: IF YOU GET A MESSAGE FROM FAMILYDISCOVERY.COM, PLEASE HEED THIS ~~ _DO NOT_ SUBSCRIBE TO THEM!!! They are most DEFINITELY defrauding people and will only take your money! If you are one of the unfortunate cousins who have already subscribed please contact me as I have more information for you. If you are a webmaster/mistress with here-to-fore unpublished genealogy data on your site and you did NOT give FamilyDiscovery.com permission to use your material, please contact me.
