    3. Bunny, You should be able to just drag and drop. I'm not sure how knowledgeable you are with computers, but that is the way I do most things. Actually, I back things up onto a CD-RW which hold a lot more and are more reliable than floppies. I hope this helps! 2. Well, if you go to the web page http://www.winxpnews.com/?id=45 it will tell you how to save your IE data folders and addresses, but it only tells you half way. It is supposed to be continued in Vol 46 or http://www.winxpnews.com/?id=46, but they goofed up and never printed the last half as promised. Nevertheless, there is valuable information there that will tell you what files must be saved and where to find them. Basically, you just take those folders and put them back in the same location after one has reinstalled Windows, and it works. Just be sure to record exactly where they were. I know there are more web sites with the "how to" for saving IE data folders, but this I had this one in my "good stuff" pile. 3. If anyone has family that might have an obit in the South Bend, IN area, the St Joseph County Public Library has a Necrology file online, with references to obits from 1920-1989, complete. It's pretty slick! Once you find your person, you can then see the obit on microfilm at their main library, and know what page you're looking for. http://www.sjcpl.lib.in.us/Databases/Necrology.html The website also has info about their local history/genealogy dept. 3. Greetings! I just got off the phone with someone at a South Bend, IN cemetery. She told me that she could not give me copies of cemetery records, because it's a privacy issue. I've requested these records from other places with no problem. Even though the people I'm requesting this information about are distant relatives, they *are* related. Is this some Indiana thing, or have the people that have been giving me these records before been breaking the law? Thanks! 3. I've posted surnames about every place I can on the internet for several years and have yet to receive a reply, except from a few who asked for my info. It doesn't seem possible that my great grandmother, Clara HAMPTON, could have evaporated into thin air after her husband, Levi, died in Fairfield IA in Feb 1882. She was only about 25-26 yrs. old. No re-marriage can be found in any of the records there, nor death record, the little home she had was being sold in Nov 1882 for non-payment of taxes (less than $1.50), and she gave up two of her three children that I know of for adoption. I've read old newspapers of that era, searched everything available in the court house, personally and with help of a professional genealogist, and can't find a trace of her. I tracked her mother, Emily STIDGER, from Ohio to Indian Territory and found her death record in 1893, but can't find an obit on her to see if Clara survived her. I finally found Clara's brother, Harmon STIDGER, died in Ohio in 1926. I got his obituary and it did not name a sister, Clara. I checked the cemetery records and the burial plot to see names of everyone buried around him, no one but his wife and children are buried there. I have an obit on another brother who died in TX - no mention of Clara. Apparently I'm the only one interested in this family and have gotten discouraged with posting names to a roll call. ja

    2. Hi Everyone, My name is Lori Lial and here are my tree lines: Hawkins (maiden name) -- Lundy Hawkins is my brick wall for this line. He is my great grandfather. All I know of him is that he married my great grandmother Ida Ellen Ann Hoagland and they adopted my grandfather Glen Thomas Hawkins. Glen was born in Kansas in 1908. Hoagland Powers Holly -- Holley Lial -- My brick wall here is: Kenneth Daniel (Danny) Lial. All I know about him is that he was married to Goldie Geneva Childers, they had 2 children of which I am married to one of them. My mother in law says that he was born in Colorado and that he was adopted by the Lials. He was born an Gonzales. Anderson Childers Since I have started tracing my family online (about 1 year now) I have found 2 cousins. One distant cousin is Robert Anderson. He has sent me all of his info on his family that he had up to 1997. There was a book written about one of our ancestors, it is called "I Buried Hickok." Very interesting book, I am reading it now. It is about his life. The other cousin is more directly related. We share the same great great grandparents. It just so exciting when you find personal info on your ancestors. Not just that they were related to you and had brothers and sister and where they lived. My husband and daughter just look at me when I find something and get all excited.
