    3. http://geocommunicator.gov/lsi/ This has a clickable map of the range/meridian/townships/sections of the United States. It allows the genealogist to find the land parcel by using the land deed description. This site is not yet complete for the whole US but is still very helpful. Even if you dont have a deed it can help you as a cross reference for searching by clicking on the county and township to find the legal description. =~=~=~= http://www.johnstonnc.com/mainpage.cfm?category_level_id=728 Johnston County Heritage Center----North Carolina For various records of Johnston County---NC. 2. Sally Rolls Pavia
    3. INDEX TO MISSING PEOPLE FOUND IN VICTORIA POLICE CORRESPONDENCE RECORDS http://members.ozemail.com.au/~hdharris/missingpeople.html The details listed below were located in uncatalogued and unindexed police correspondence files held in the Public Record Office, Victoria, Australia. These items all have one thing in common: they were written by people outside Australia, to the police department in Victoria, in an attempt to locate 'missing' individuals. The persons sought could be long-lost relatives or friends; husbands or wives who had deserted their spouses; suspected bigamists; or even people who had been in Victoria and who had committed a crime while overseas. 1. [NEWGEN] question
    2. I have a question which I hope someone will have the answer. I found a reference to a person who was an inmate in the West Virginia prison in Moundsville during the 1920 census. Where would I go to get records or information about said person. The prison is now closed. Any and all information will be gratefully accepted. Pat Cartiff ([email protected])

    3. Hello Dennis, Please post your surnames to the list. Ask Any questions you have about Genealogy. What states, countries are you searching? Do you need web sites for certain places or for certain information? Have you started your search yet? This is a slow time of the year for most lists so we would all be interested in your search and all are willing to help. Many on this list who you will hear from most often have been here since the list's beginning. Most of us have never met but through all the posts to the list as well as private mail are as concerned about each other as if we were neighbors or family. I had not heard the term Quincy for many years. When my grandmother spoke of it she never explained to me what it was. Everyone else knew. I guess it might have been something very scary years ago. So you see although this was not Strictly genealogy you taught me something. Rose [email protected] wrote: > Hello; I'm a new user and am confused as to the content of the site. 2. Hello; I'm a new user and am confused as to the content of the site. I thought it was established to help new Rootsweb users [which means interested in family history]. All the copies I've received to date indicate that this is a personal site concerned with prayer for the sick? Of course, I'm not opposed to praying nor being concerned for my fellow man. But I would look for that on a religious web site not on a family history - -genealogical web site. I must be missing something, please help me out. [By the way, the youngster with the throat infection probably had a Quinsy, George Washington died of a Quinsy, a puss pocket of infection in the throat. My son also survived this type of infection 35 years ago] Dennis Cotter, a Newbie

    3. Kim went to visit Joey today and the doctor left orders for him to go home. He's still sick, but not sick enough to be in the hospital. A nurse will visit them at home this evening and teach Kim how to use the IV for his meds. He still has an IV in his arm. He goes back to see the doctor on Monday.... maybe his IV can come out then and they'll put him on a regular antibiotic. I want to thank everyone again who kept Joey in your prayers.... it worked... 3. Joey had surgery at 11:30 this morning. It took about an hour. They removed infection the diameter of a half dollar from his neck. He's in a semi-private room now. I just got off the phone from talking to him. He sounds so much better. His headache is gone and he can move his neck without too much pain. He's watching television.... which he couldn't do before because of the noise and light..... It's a good thing they operated when they did.... the infection was preparing to seep into his system..... They will check and find out what type of bacteria infection it is for the right antibiotic. He may go home next Monday or Tuesday if his white count comes down.... Thanks for all your prayers. Prayer in numbers is the way to go.... Bunny
