Susanne hi >From my Trecartin file I have found Rebecca as a McLeod and married to Martin April 13 1783 in Duchess County New York. She having been born Norwalk, Ct ca.1766. I have Revolutionary Pensions as a source but whether this is source for marriage is doubtful. Will see if I can find other sources for her maiden name etc. Karen
Hi friend, Getting blown away? Norwalk Ct is where the HOYTs come from. I don't know where the McLEOD came in but I "feel" it is wrong now. But I'm open to any proof, one way or the other. The 1930 applications for the Loyalist Society at the NB Museum state she was a HOYT. But I don't know their sources. I love a good challenge like this. :) Keep warm.
