Hi, I posted last night looking for proof that Martin TRECARTIN's wife was Rebecca HOYT. Although I didn't find proof, I have found a very likely origin for Martin's surname. ( I was unable to find it anywhere before him) In Penzance and Scilly Isles, Cornwall Co.,England is the surname TREGARTHEN. I believe this is the origin of the name TRECARTIN. The area is not that big and among the surnames are MARTIN and , you'll never guess, HOYT / HAYT / HAIGHT etc. It is well known that people often married a girl from a family from "back home" and I think he did. He also settled near the FLEWELLING family which is from the Wales / Cornwall area too. Anyway, I thought this kind of neat to find and thought I'd share. Suzanne Carter
