I am hoping some reader can help identify a location. Recently I purchased a letter mailed by a George (unknown) to Henry G. Clopper (a banker I believe) in Frederiction, dated 1834 and discussing £1,500 for land at PIRATES COVE on a ....COOK LAKE (first part of the Lake name is missing). I am aware of a Pirate's Cove near Canso, NS - but am not sure where this one is - almost certainly in NB. Any ideas welcome Tom Moffatt -- Thomas F. >From Alan Rayburn's "Geological Names of New Brunswick": Pirate Lake: N. of Spednic Lake. Old Plan Scooneygomskiktie, possibly the Passamaquoddy name. Pirate Brook and Pirate Cove are adjacent features.
