Marilyn There are nine Charl(e)ton entries in "Early Marriage Records of New Brunswick" by B. Wood Holt. I am not sure if this book is still available for purchase. The majority of the entries are for Charlton individuals who were witnesses of a marriage between other individuals, but there are the following four Charl(e)ton marriages listed. It would appear that the first two may be duplicates even through there is a difference in years - perhaps an error somewhere, however, both marriages were performed in November. Let me know if any of these names are of interest to you. 1813: Wm. Charlton to Miss Thereasa Agnew (Royal Gazette entry) 1815: Wiliam Charlton m. Thresa Agnew (Anglican Marriage Records - Trinity Church) 1830: Thomas Charlton m. Rebecca Swift (widow) 1836: James Lenton m. Catharine Charleton Good Luck with your search Betty Ann >>>Marilyn Morrow wrote: >>>Trying to confirm a marriage, between Thomas(?) Charlton and Margaret >>> >>> >>Dougan. There are two others in the "Queens County New Brunswick: Marriage Volume A - 1812-1861" by R. Wallace Hale: CURRY, George of Petersville & CHARLTON, Sarah Ann of Simonds, St. John, w: James Chittick & Elizabeth Chittick, 30-Jan-1856 OGDEN, Robert of Hampstead & CHARLTON, Sophia of same, w: John P. Ogden and Stephen (S) Ogden - 19-Jun-1841 Jared > Marilyn > > There are nine Charl(e)ton entries in "Early Marriage Records of New > Brunswick" by B. Wood Holt. Thanks Betty Ann, The last marriage you listed, between James Lenton and Catharine Charleton may solve a completely different mystery for me -- I've had a James Linton and wife Catharine in my tree for some time, but no info about Catherine's maiden name. This may well be the same couple, as Linton was often mis-spelled or mis-transcribed as Lenton. Can you provide any further details about this marriage? Witnesses, or where the couple were from? Much appreciated.
