    3. All I am seeking direction in how to organize my new found data from Daniel F. Johnson¹s ³Index of New Brunswick Newspapers² in Reunion v8 (Mac only). Since Reunion allows me to modify and create source types, I believe it is possible to make more efficient use of the source-citation process than a straight one-to-one coupling. (BTW, Dan Johnson¹s Index is a super source of material for those interested in New Brunswick, Canada material.) My database contains: * 299 records * 22 newspapers * More than 100 volumes It should be further noted that any one record can and frequently does contain more than one name of interest. The data collected for each record contains the following fields: * Newspaper * Place (town or city) * County, Date (of publication) * Volume number * Reference number * {A derived) list of important names * The actual text from the article Since all 299 entries refer to ONE source that of Daniel¹s index - it seems logical to group the information such that I do not have 299 sources. But how? Should I organize it by paper? Or volume? If not either, what? Comments and suggestions welcome. 3. Hi Arnold I am also a Mac user and utilize Reunion as my gen. program. For sources such as Dan's, specific web sites, authors, reference books, or vitals from one area like PANB, etc. that I use frequently, I use the source type that is most closely related to the identity of the source I wish to reference, ie: a PANB birth, marriage or death vitals record, and fill it in as a generic reference to that basic source with the details as to where it is located and can be contacted. Then, after inserting that source citation on a person sheet, you will find a section that is entitled Details . That is where I then enter the reference information specific to that particular source document for that specific person. I find this process eliminates multiple references to the same source location and the source types are much easier to locate each time new information is received. Clear as mud??? ;-) If you have a problem following my explanation, feel free to email me off line and I will attach an example of what I am trying to describe. Good Luck!!
