The 1911 Carleton Co. census shows her birth date Oct 1875; immigrating from England 1886. She is also recorded as Mabell A. KINNIE. http://www.automatedgenealogy.com/census11/Test16.jsp?id=19851 On freebmd (the British Birth Marriage Death Register) shows a number of young girls named Mabel HOWARD (if that was her maiden name). One shows a Mabel Alice HOWARD born Dec Qtr 1875, Isle of Wight (online it says that it spans the boundaries of the counties of the Isle of Wight and Hampshire). When the Brits did their Index, they did it by quarters - so the Dec Qtr would be Oct-Nov-Dec.... which corresponds with the Oct 1875 on the 1911 Census.
