    3. Jim, The short answer is "anywhere but Quebec." However, there was confusion among some of the census-takers and they recorded "Canada Eng." or "Canada Fr." depending on what language the people spoke. The best thing you can do is look for others in the area who came from Canada and see whether the response recorded on the form seems to be based on language or province of origin.
