Betty, Here are some scattered notes on Jacob, near as I can figure. Not enough time to make the necessary double-checks, but put these together in about an hour on Ancestry.com: Your initial reference on Jacob... 1920 Oxbow, ME: arrived US in 1911 Jacob Morse 37 b. Canada Florence Morse 28 b. England Blanche E Morse 7 b. ME Ella Mae Morse 6 b. ME Milton D Morse 5 b. ME Arneta Morse 3 4/12 b. ME Ephrem Morse 53 b. Canada 1930 in Chapman, Aroostook Co, ME: Jacob D Morse 44 (1886) Florence B Morse 27 (1903? hardly! - should be 37/38 and b. 1891?) Ella M Morse 16 (b. @1914) Milton D Morse 15 (b. @1915) Arnold T Morse 13 (b. @1917) Lawrence F Morse 10 (b. @1920) Evelyn L Morse 4 3/12 (b. @1925) Unnamed Morse (JUST born daughter - 0 months) Appear to have been married as of 1910 to 1912 In 1930, Jacob was a section hand on the B&G or B&A Railroad shows arrival as 1913, then. Arnold T. Morse, b. 10-Aug-1916, d. 28-Mar-2000, Caribou, Aroostook, ME For awhile, at least, Arnold resided in Unity, Waldo Co, ME. Milton D. Morse, b. 23-Dec-1914, d. 02-Jul-2003 Searsport, Waldo Co, ME. MAY have also resided in Troy, ME, between 1994 and 2002. Enlisted in WWII on 24-Mar-1942 at Bangor (was of Aroostook Co, then), single, w/o dependents. >From California Death Index: Name: MORSE, LAWRENCE FREDRICK Social Security #: 512265466 Sex: MALE Birth Date: 3 Dec 1921 Birthplace: MAINE Death Date: 13 Jul 1987 Death Place: SAN BERNARDINO Mother's Maiden Name: BIRD (Burtt?) Morse enlisted 09-Sep-1942 at Bangor, single, no dependents, b. 1921, native to Aroostook Co. Would APPEAR, Ella Morse of Chapman, Maine, married Perley McPherson of Chapman, ME on 15-Apr-1933. Ella Mae McPherson, d. 09-Mar-1996, aged 82, at Presque Isle, ME SSDI listed her DOB as 17-Oct-1913, bu showed her last residence as Plattsburgh, Clinton Co, NY (perhaps a nursing home??? no idea). Only close one on Evelyn might be: Evelyn L. Morse of Rockland, ME, m. 15-Nov-1938 to Norman H. Knight of Kennebunk, ME. However, if she was the one who d. 1981 aged 69, then it could not be one and the same b. @1925! IF she was Evelyn Louise (Morse) Knight, perhaps b. 07-Aug-1927? LONGshot, but IF so, living in Topsfield, MA. (978) 887-6021 (not sure how current) ALSO, as there WAS an Evelyn L. KNIGHT married on 11-Oct-1950 of Brookton, ME, to an Alvin O. Young... well, if she married a 2nd time, then the information on current Evelyn Knight is SURELY wrong... Common names!!! *Sigh* If married Young, then could easily be the Evelyn Young who d. 13-Jan-1989, aged 73, at Biddeford, ME... again, a longshot! However, given her age in 1930 Census, that at least looks closer to possible. In the 1960s, Ella and Perley E. McPherson resided at 239 Pearl Street in Bangor, ME. Perley d. 06-Jul-1988, aged 78, at Bangor, ME. Was listed as being of Brewer, ME, and DOB from SSDI shows 10-Aug-1909. Apparently, Perley was s/o Charles M. and Ethel F. McPherson, of Chapman, ME, and came from a very large family, showing 10 children in 1920 Census. INTERESTINGLY, the following from 1911 Canada Census... sort of makes sense for Florence, but what was up with Jacob, if this is an accurate transcription? 1911 Canada Census for Havelock Parish, Albert/Kings Co, NB. 9 63 Morse Lee J. M Head M Jul 1883 27 1901 (right birth month, not TOO far off on year) 10 63 Morse Florence B. F Wife M Sep 1891 20 (very solid on Florence, including the "B") > Have a George Morse in the 1901 Census for NB Kings Havelock as follows: > George Morse b.April 1 1840 > Jinnet -wife b.May 11 1850 > Jacob D Morse July 12 1880 > Stella Morse b.Dec 2 1890 > Jennie Morse b.
