Hi: My David Drake Buchanan and wife Salome Ketchum, both born 1824 in St. John, N.B. went to Bath, Maine where 2 of their 9 children were born--George Owen Buchanan and Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan. In 1854 they sailed in a schooner up the coast to Isaac's Harbour, Nova Scotia where they settled for a number of years. Question: would the 2 children have birth records in Maine? where would they be registered? and would they be registered in Canada or just show up in census records? Thanks.
