    3. The New York Genealogical & Biographical Society will be cut off from remote access to Heritage Quest as a privilege of membership on April 30, 2007. The Los Angeles Public Library suspended remote access to card holders last week. I believe all libraries and societies will lose the right to provide remote access this year. Sheila MacAvoy Block

    3. Godfrey Memorial Library has not renewed with Heritage Quest, which has forced me to subscribe to Ancestry to get census records. You may purchased CDs directly from Heritage Quest. It is organized by counties within each particular State. Runs about $25 each. I have several from central Ohio, if anyone needs a lookup. Only occasionally does some one indicate they were born in Canada. 3. This is confusing because Heritage Quest has flatly stated, more than once, that the only ones losing remote access would be the societies. They have stated that there are no plans to remove remote access from card holders of public libraries, only the societies. They have stated that this was a misunderstanding on the part of those who thought the societies and the libraries were both being cut.
