In the two marriages of Thomas Coates, the story of the Stockton store is shown with Sterling Leander Stockton born 1858 and wife Ella May (Pearce)operating it at least 1890 to 1898 and their son Lee Blair operating it later up to possibly 1949. Lee married Willa Jones who died 1972. I checked today with an 92 year old lady in Petitcodiac and although she remembers the store she cannot recall any Hanningtons in that village nor around the store.
