She is shown as Negro and there fore thought to be a daughter and not the daughter – in – law of (James Douthright). In 1861 census Charlotte and same two children are still in Elgin Parish. Two additional children have been added to her family and her eldest son Bamford is shown as family “head”. By 1871 they are found in Coverdale Parish all except Bamford are in the same household.
