Around 1900, where would people on Long Island, Kings Co. (the one above Saint John in KIngston Parish, not Long Island, Hampstead), be buried? I'm looking for Sharps (Anglican & Baptist) and DeLong (Baptist). The PANB website doesn't appear to have a cemetery that might suit, although I don't know where the Church of the Assension is located. Thanks, Bill
Bill, The Church of the Ascension is located on the Norton Shore Rd in Hampton NB. This location is on the road to Kingston. My neighbor is from Kingston, though, and I will give her a call to ask which cemetery would have been used by the habitants of Long Island, and I'll get back to you. That would be St. Paul's Anglican Church at Whitehead and Gordon Miller has generously placed them online at http://gkmiller.tripod.com/Churches/StPauls.htm I might add that this is the closest point of land to the island and therefore owners of present day "camps" (cottages) cross there. Hope this helps, Suzanne Carter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Tufts" <dg052@freenet.carleton.ca> To: <newbrunswick@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 20, 2007 9:58 AM Subject: [ NB ] Cemetery(s) for Long Island, Kings Co., NB > Around 1900, where would people on Long Island, Kings Co. Thanks Suzanne, I had a look - no Sharps or DeLongs. I did find a man in the military. His gravestone reads "General Service." I also found a couple of "maybes" in otehr families.
