Many came from across the seas to North America, disembarking in various Canadian ports (which means they entered/crossed the border into Canada), then later crossed into the USA by land. The reverse also happened. There is a recently added database which does give actual land crossings. Sorry I don't have the URL to hand, but it was quite extensive. Are you sure you are searching the correct web site? Perhaps some of you have mixed the two up. Most likely someone has the correct web URL and they can post it for you. Toni ~ Ontario
