Born in Lakeville, NB , on February 1,1916, he was the son of the late Alfred and Saraphine (Douthwright) Kierstead. Russell was retired from Marven's Biscuit where he a baker with over 26 years of service. He was a member of the Legion Branch #6. He served overseas during World War II with the Royal Canadian Army. Russell is survived by two daughters Jackie Price (David), Toronto, ON, Irma Kierstead, at home; one son Vernon Kierstead (Debbie), Lakeville; six grandchildren, Tina Galbraith, Tammy , Randy, Christopher, Angela, Stacey; one great granddaughter, Stephanie; one sister Myrtle MacNamara of Rothesay.
