According to the US Census for 1860, Anne MERRILL was born ca 1804 in ³New Brunswick.² Her last name ³may have been² BEANAN. She married James MERRILL and moved to Cary, Aroostook, Maine. Looking for any with the surname BEANAN to try and make a connection. The ³BEANAN² comes from an ³un-sourced² file at LDS. That same 1860 census states that James MERRILL was also born ³New Brunswick,² but I have yet to place him in NB or find his ancestry. Any hints greatly appreciated. Jim Roaix (2gGrandson of James & Anne MERRILL)
I did a name search on the New Brunswick Archives website for records with sound-a-likes and BEAMAN, BEAMEN, BANNAN, BANNEN, BANNON are the spellings given - no BEANAN. The site is http://archives.gnb.ca On Mon, Jul 6, 2009 at 8:15 AM, Jim Roaix <[email protected]> wrote: > According to the US Census for 1860, Anne MERRILL was born ca 1804 in ³New > Brunswick.² Her last name ³may have been² BEANAN. > She married James MERRILL and moved to Cary, Aroostook, Maine. > Looking for any with the surname BEANAN to try and make a connection.
