My grandmother Wilhelmina Colwell (1878 - 1973) was born in Saint John to William H. Colwell (1839 -1921) and Margaret Brittain (1840 - 1923). William Colwell's father was Levi Colwell (1812 - 1843) and Levi's father was John Colwell (1785 - 1863). I have often wondered whether these Colwells were connected with the Jemseg, Queens Co. Colwells, but as yet have found no evidence. Some years ago I was reading an article about Enoch B. Colwell, grandson of John Colwell and 1st cousin of William H.
