To Rae Martin ......... Mortimer/Mortimore: England to Newfoundland Sinnott/Kincade ancestors: Ireland to New Brunswick Hi Rae: Hope you can help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My original immigrant to Nfld was James Mortimer who married Diana Ridway in Harbor Grace,Nfld. on 19 Oct. 1817. marriage documents state both were from "Bristol" Eng.? I have been able to piece together their decendants, but like my Sinnott ancestors below I have no record of how or when they sailing to Nfld. I also have a huge brickwall in regards to my 2nd Grt Grandfather Thomas Sinnott, b. in Co. Wexford in 1796 and his wife Jane Kincade, b. Co. Wexford in 1800. ( source marriage documents ) They both immigrated to New Brunswick,Ca. in 1821 and married in 1825.. but I have never been able to find any reference of how or when they sailed, whether they sailed together nor the port of departure. I think Terence Punch was English or Irish and obtained his data from departure records. There is a Thomas Furlong who died Oct 5, 1878 at 80 years old. Here is the information it gives: Age 80 years old Event Address: Carbonear, Conception Bay Death Reference Date 1: Sat. Oct 5, 1878 Source: Harbor Grace Standard (also known as Standard & Conception Bay Advertiser) 1859 - 1936) Deceased was a native of Wexford, Ireland. I don't know if this really helps you but I thought the fact that it gave his birthplace as Wexford, Ireland that maybe this might be of some assistance???
