Shirley: Like John, I've never known James and John to be interchangeable. Could it be possible that he was James John Guiggan or John James Guiggan. Without seeing the document the other possibility is that James and John might be father and son and some confusion transpired. He has been John on every other document that has been found so far. There is another record dated 1808/09 where it is titled James Guige. We don't know if this is a son that we have no record on OR is the same John Giggey - Loyalist.
