    3. Hi List, There are some great free websites that I just naturally go to over and over... and over. I'd love to know what other sites are out there that I may be missing. A List of My Most Favourite Sites for New Brunswick research: *Provincial Archives of New Brunswick* http://archives.gnb.ca (one of the best!!) *Nova Scotia Historical Vital Statistics* www.novascotiagenealogy.com Many, many New Brunswickers can be found in these records - original documents. *Prince Edward Island (PEI)* - *The Island Register *www.islandregister.com Also, many came from Prince Edward Island - complete with pedigrees, censuses, etc. *PEI Archives : *Databases-Baptisms, Memorials, etc*.* http://www.gov.pe.ca/cca/index.php3?number=1006228&lang=<http://www.gov.pe.ca/cca/index.php3?number=1006228&lang> *Canadian Censuses - transcribed *www.automatedgenealogy.com 1851 NB, 1852 CA - Canada West (Ontario) & Canada East (Quebec) - we weren't a country until Confederation in 1867, 1901, 1906 Western Provinces only, 1911 - complete with original films + 1871 Kings Co. NB *Library & Archives Canada* http://collectionscanada.ca/ Databases (military, censuses, immigration, etc.) http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/lac-bac/search-recherche/anc.php?Language=eng *Massachusetts Vital Records Search* http://www.sec.state.ma.us/vitalrecordssearch/ There was a mass exodus of people from the Maritime provinces bet 1860s - 1890s and Massachusetts was a favoured destination point. Reference numbers are given - Volunteers on RAOGK, below, love the ref. nos. - depending on volunteer's source, copy of original docs may be sent. *Boston Pilot - Information Wanted (1831-1921)* http://infowanted.bc.edu/ Database of advertisements for Irish Immigrants. I get many by typing in St John - but only one for St. John under "port" and a few more under "location" so try variables in names or places. Here's the result for St John (no period) http://infowanted.bc.edu/results/ The advertisements are soooo interesting. *Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness (raogk)* www.raogk.com Volunteers around the world will do vital stat, cemetery, obit lookups & more. *Record Search Pilot* http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html# found on www.familysearch.org (under Search Records). The films held in the LDS Archives in Utah are being digitized so the site is upgraded on a regular basis - a great many have the original documents attached to the transcription. *Family Search* www.familysearch.org Many of the records are extracted from original sources (it will tell you at the bottom of the record on the IGI if submitted by a Church member or extracted from Vital records, parish records, etc. If extracted, click on highlighted source number for film name.) *WorldConnect *http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com Submitted pedigrees (sometimes sourced) + submitter's name & email address. *Free BDM for England & Wales* http://freebmd.rootsweb.com One of my all-time favs... <http://infowanted.bc.edu/> And for that "stray" who is still out there... somewhere... who met a girl along the way Westward... ** ** *British Columbia Archives* http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-5CC08D6/gbsearch/Births,Marriages,Deaths *Washington State Digital Archives* http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/ ** *Western States Marriages* http://abish.byui.edu/specialCollections/westernStates/Search.cfm *Arizona Births & Deaths* http://genealogy.az.gov/ *Find-A-Grave *www.findagrave.com click on "search 38 million grave records" Shirley
