The training was not necessarily local. In the First World War the two major training areas in Eastren Canada were at Aldershot, NS, and near Montreal. I believe "4th Draft C.O.R." refers to the fourth group of recruits gathered to go to Europe to reinforce existing regiments in the theater of operations. They did not always serve as provincial corps, sometimes New Brunswick men would find themselves in France serving in a Nova Scotia or Quebec regiment, and vice versa. And the challenge grows. But it firms my resolve; the poor boy needs to be found. he was pretty much alone except for his elderly grandmother and absent parents; died too soon for a family of his own. His story matter to me and by the number of people here who have helped, it hits a note for all of us in memory of those kids and their terrible sacrifice, especially in WWI.. Thanks for sharing this; military history is far outside my experience. Beverley On Wed, Nov 4, 2009 at 11:53 AM, Jay Underwood <[email protected] > wrote: > The training was not necessarily local.
