    3. Thanks to Shirley i followed up with a Random Act of Kindness and they found that Charles Barker died of pneumonia although we still do not have a place of death. This is the site: http://www.mapleleaflegacy.ca/en/index.php It also appears that his father was, as recorded, Charles William, the younger brother of Judson Barker who was married to the boy's mother and all living in the family home at the time. Exaplins why the grandparents raised him but makes the story sadder from the perspective of the times. And of course why my grandmother wouldnt tell me in the 50s. I ve asked for further records as to where he died but now have a way to remember him warmly next week. Thanks again for all your help. -- Beverley Clarkson Sambro Head, Nova Scotia

    3. Beverley... That's wonderful that someone was able to find the information for you - I LOVE random acts - I have been hugely blessed by many, many of the volunteers. Also, I never knew about the Maple Leaf Legacy site - it is wonderful. I would think that Charles probably died in New Brunswick - perhaps at the military base?? Good luck in the rest of your search. Shirley

    3. Hi Gloria, Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness www.raogk.com Choose a country/county - People who volunteer to do vital stats or obit lookups or will take cemetery pictures... they will let you know what they can do for you in a particular part of the world. You could be a volunteer for the Oshawa area. Shirley On Fri, Nov 6, 2009 at 4:35 AM, G D <[email protected]> wrote: > > Will you explain random acts ?
