A check of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website http://www.cwgc.org/debt_of_honour.asp?menuid=14 gives no place of burial for Charles Benjamin Barker in the First World War, which leads to the conclusion that he must have died and was buried in Canada, rather than in any of the European war cemeteries. There were several troop train wrecks in Canada towards the end of the First World War, mostly from Montreal westward, and he may have been a fatality in one of those accidents.
