Deirdre... IF - IF you do find that Patrick BLANCH is the father of your Mary Esther BLANCH, then the New Brunswick Archives website has Land Petition records for Patrick, as well as his brothers James and Michael. http://archives.gnb.ca/APPS/GovRecs/RS108/Search.aspx?culture=en-CA These records can contain great genealogical information. The copies are Cdn$8 and worth every penny. Someone on Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness may also be able to help you access some of the records. Check the 2nd person down on this list http://www.raogk.com/newbrunswick.htm In looking at the databases from WorldConnect, it seems that no other brother of Patrick's had a daughter named Mary born in the same time period that you're looking for. His brother Michael had a daughter Mary born c1846. It looks like, as well, that the brothers may have all married in New Brunswick - probably Westmorland Co. I wonder if they show up in the Early New Brunswick Marriage records?? Oh my gosh... In the back of my mind, I thought that there was a Westmorland Co. BLANCH in my database - and there is! William BLANCH 1856-1931; s/o Barnabus BLANCH (bro/o Patrick). William married a Catherine BOLEYN - Catherine's mother & my 3grgrandmother were sisters.) Well, now you have to find out if Patrick's your line - it looks like we have a BLANCH connection!!. Shirley
