Hi Heather, My subscription expired back in December but didn't have $300 to plunk down for a new round, but by the time 3 mos passed, I was going crazy without it. I called them late March and when they looked at my records and saw I had been a paying subscriber since 1999, they gave me 25% off. Which wasn't as good as the last time when they phoned me over a year ago and wanted me to stay (they gave me $100 off then). If you call once and they don't give you any discount, I'd try again and hope you get someone else who might extend the benefit of a discount. The price keeps climbing, but so does the amount of available records at your fingertips. It's a lot at once, but when divided monthly, and what we get out of it, I think it's more than worthwhile. I certainly waste way more than $20-$30/mo on really stupid stuff, so when I think about that amount for Ancestry...I don't have a problem with it. I just wish it was as reasonable to pay monthly as it's always tough to come up with a big amount at once. I have to get the World membership because half my research is here in the States, and the other half in Quebec and New Brunswick. Question... does anyone know if you let it expire and then decide to "renew" in say 3 months does the company offer a "discount" for renewing the membership?? > > Thanks... > > Heather > > > > Heather Leighton Waddingham > Campobello Parish Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~nbcampob/ > My England and Canadian Roots > http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=CDNROOTS
