    3. Is there website that describes the degrees of consanguinity? I'm wondering what relationship might be suggested by the following statement taken from a RC marriage record-- "after publication of banns and dispensing of one impediment of consanguinity in the third degree, maslione non capta" Thanks Debbie

    3. Here is some information in terms of your request - Hopefully it helps - I have included sites that give descriptions as well as well as a Chart - Depending on the information you are seeking the chart may be all that is necessary. Check your genealogy data program as many will set relationships for you. I use Legacy and Family tree maker. I know they do. I find that attribute a very helpful tool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consanguinity Description http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Descent+and+Distribution Description http://www.geocities.com/bourbonstreet/1769/ Chart -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of bstack Sent: June-07-09 11:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [ NB ] Relationships Is there website that describes the degrees of consanguinity? 3. The following site tells how the Catholic Church views the varying degrees. "Consanguinity is a diriment impediment of marriage as far as the fourth degree of kinship inclusive." http://newadvent.org/cathen/04264a.htm -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of bstack Sent: June-07-09 11:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [ NB ] Relationships Is there website that describes the degrees of consanguinity?
