There is a word search function in the "Flip Books" option...the tab is at the right-hand side of the screen, but it doesn't always show clearly, depending on the size of the book, and sometimes will also include partial combinations (ie. if you were to search for the name "John" it would also pick out "Johnson" etc.) You can do a "Find" word search in the "Full text" option, but that option frequently causes my laptop to seize up, and doesn't always work effectively. I have found the best way is to download the entire PDF file, and use Adobe Reader's word search, then run the section you want through Paperport to produce a .doc file, and ditch the PDF file when you're finished with it. Alternatively, since the PDF files can be quite large, I burn those I may want to use again onto a CD, and take it off my hard drive. Jay Underwood Elmsdale. c . Now available from Railfare-DC Books!
