Unfortunately in 1819, there were no official birth records. Your only source would be church baptism records or the Family Bible, both of which would likely not list the place of birth. If you haven't already, you should search for their burial records which sometimes do list birth information. Carol - WorldConnect has a bit of information on Thomas R. Parsons - no parents, though. It was a David James who submitted the information and his email is also online. http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=jamesdm49&id=I44370 It's also sourced for marriage, & Thomas's death (09 Sep 1871), etc. which is always a plus. Also, it is showing the last census Mary Jane was on which was the 1880. It would be worth contacting the Town Clerk's Office for her death record - they're always very helpful. It just might give parents' names. And I would do the same for Thomas even though it's earlier. Both 1860 & 1870 show that they were both born in Maine... so it does look like Maine and not New Brunswick as places of birth. Here are the 1860 & 1870 in case you don't have them: (taken from Heritage Quest) 1860 ME, Washington, East Machias Dated 15 Jun 1860 PARSONS - Thomas, 39, Male, Master Mariner, Value of Real Estate- 500, Value of Personal Estate- 200, Maine - Mary J, 38, F, ME - Ann M, 14, F, ME - Mary E, 12, F, ME, Attended School - Herbert A, 9, M, ME, Att.
