Shirley, The early records of New Brunswick book by Wood-Holt has the following: Marriage bonds but no related ceremonies recorded in the government Register 'B' for the city and County of Saint John. I realize that the proposed bride is not the same name, but may be relevant to you. 1832 Sept 18 - Charles (x) Stokes and Brigit Ryon (widow) both of St Martins, Saint John Co. Surety of Groom; Wm Clow of St martins, N. McGlinchey of Saint John. There is no marriage listed of a Knapton. I sooo wish the 1851 census had survived - especially since Saint John was such an important area for early settlers and immigrants. It would have helped make sense out of all of these marriages that seem to begin and end on the same page. Thanks for checking for Knapton, as well.
