Hello, Jim.............I think I corresponded with you in 2005 when you first offered the document you speak of to a descendant of Alexander Brown and Grace Gilmore. It appears that you have still not located a direct descendant . Have you considered donating that document to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick? I have asked that all of my documents and information that I have compiled be donated there. That way, it will be properly preserved and will be accessable to any family member who wishes to see it. I am a descendant of Grace Gilmore's brother, James Brown Gilmore and his wife Mary E. Flewelling. (through their son Thomas Gilmore/Mary Fox Howe then daughter Margaret Gilmore/Angus MacMillan , then Jean MacMillan/Neal Burden and then me) I have a copy of a Gilmore family history that was published in1983 and I think I tried to obtain a copy of that for you, but could not locate one. In the above book, it says "Alexander Brown was born in 1793 and was a brother of David Brown. His father was Alexander Brown sen. He was married on September 27, 1821 to Grace Gilmore, a sister of his brother's wife and the second daughter of Joseph Gilmore and Margaret Brown." On the page about David Brown , it says "David Brown was born in the year 1791, the son of Alexander and Dorothy Brown. Alexander and Dorothy came to new Brunswick after the American Revolutionary War and received a grant of land on Grand Lake, in the Parish of Canning, Queens County in 1786." There is a picture of David Brown in this book, as well as pictures of Rhoda and Mary Jane Brown, daughters of Alexander and Grace. I do hope you can find someone who will appreciate the document that you have carefully preserved. If it does not take this time, I give up and will just trash the document. Below is a list of BROWNs who are the descendants of Alexander BROWN (born 1793) and Grace GILMORE (born 1796). Both born in New Brunswick, Canada and descendant from Loyalists. I have a document that was hand drawn ca 1850, that lists all of their children. It is rather fancy with hand-drawn flowers, all in color, with the lettering being calligraphy. I will share digital images with any descendants, and if I can locate a direct descendant of the male line I will pass along the original document, keeping only a digital copy for myself. It is now in a sealed frame with acid-free matting and UV-resistant glass. Alexander is my 2gGrandfather, and I do have more on his line back a couple more generations (which are NOT in the document). jim Alexander BROWN b. 4 Feb 1793, New Brunswick, Canada & Grace GILMORE b. 13 Nov 1796, Penniac, York Co, New Brunswick m.
