Hello, After I posted my query yesterday morning, very helpful researchers wrote to offer more information for me. It seems that John Howard HARRIS was the son of John HARRIS and Fannie - ROLLINS or ROANS or ROWANS or RALLANS. We have found at least 6 spellings of this surname in the records. It's possible that the ROANS name was the original name. I have to do more on-line looking today to see if I can find out when the ROANS name first appeared in New Brunswick. However, we did find that a William ROANS was born in England ~1794. And the families were in York County. William married Mary Alicia McLEAN, b1799 (CAN?), and they had 9 children. And, John and Fannie HARRIS seem to have had only 3 sons. They seem to have had twin-sons, John H. and Judson M.? HARRIS, b1876 (1878?) in N.B. and then Fredrick M. HARRIS, b1879/80. Fannie, as a widow?, and her children are found in the 1901 census in St. Mary's. But, the 1900 US census has son, John, in Houlton, ME. It seems that John Howard HARRIS and Marian "Aurelia" KIDDER moved around a lot. They might have had 4 children, born in both places, but the 1910 census shows only 2 surviving children, son, Fredrick HARRIS, b1904, and daughter, Daisy HARRIS, b1906. Mrs. "Rilla" KIDDER was born ~1882 in Princeton, Maine, and John HARRIS was born in Fredericton, N.B. And there is some information on his brothers. But, there is still no information on where John went after leaving his wife in Maine ~1915. Mrs. Fannie HARRIS died in York Co. in 1924, and she seems to have had siblings living near her. The ROANS children seem to have been born in the 1830's and 1840's timeframe. That's all I'll say for this morning. I haven't finished summarizing all the information I was offered yesterday.
