    3. Howard Alexander Crawford, b. 28-Aug-1883, Canada, per 1917 WWI Draft registration, m. Vira Mae Neal, and died 18-Oct-1951, in Maine, USA. He was SUPPOSEDLY a son of Judson B. Crawford, so a very interesting puzzle!!! I'm thinking, when he listed Judson as POC on his WWI Draft Reg, he was referrring to his brother. The Howard shown as son of Joseph, was b. 28-Aug-1885, per 1901 census. he had a BROTHER named Judson, but a son of Joseph. The Howard in question (son of Joseph and Eliza) appears with his family in 1891 census for Canning, Queens Co, NB, and, again in 1901, he is still in Canning. Joseph b. NB 25-Aug-1832 Eliza(beth) b. 08-May-1838, NB On his WWI Draft Registration, he listed Judson B. Crawford of Minto, N.B. as his nearest relative. He (Howard) was living in Waterville, Kennebec Co, ME in 1917/18 timeframe. Some family trees listed Howard as son of Judson B., and listed his POB as Ontario, but that doesn't fit with any Ontario records. He surely married Vira Mae Neal on 05-Mar-1919 in Maine. 1930 US Census for Portland, Cumberland Co, ME: Head Howard Crawford M 44 Spouse Vira Crawford F 38 Child Howard Crawford M 10 Child Clarence Crawford M 8 Child Hazel Crawford F 6 Child Margaret Crawford F 4 Child Mildred Crawford F 1 Shows he came to US in 1910, which would fit with not being listed in 1911 census. 3. Jared, You are on to something. I looked at the Draft card, but didn't pick up a wife Vira. I'll go back and look again. Guess this is not the time of day for me to be researching. As I told Suzanne, I dismissed Howard and wife Vira in 1920 because of where he said he was from. He is definitely a son of Joseph and Eliza; and a brother to Judson. There are only a few in the Crawford family that used Judson as a given or middle name. I also saw the 1919 marriage, but not with that wife. I must be really really tired. Ron and Debbie Cross should know; they are from Joseph and Eliza. Maybe they will add their two cents! Thanks to both Jared and Suzanne. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jared Handspicker Howard Alexander Crawford, b. 28-Aug-1883, Canada, per 1917 WWI Draft registration, m.
