Jared, thanks for all that information. I'm not good at navigating Ancestry. Looks to me like Howard is certainly the brother of Judson. However, the family trees are a mess of copying from each other. I double checked the census records for 1901 and 1911 for them, and they are not there, in spite of the source citation. Howard and Vira Mae probably indeed had those children in the family trees; they are just latched on to the wrong parents. Howard may be a prankster or running away from something. As far as I can tell, his mother is Eliza Brown. However, husband Joseph has a ten year gap in children which always leaves me uneasy. It is possible Joseph had two wives, both named Eliza. Joseph and Eliza never left NB. And of Joseph and Eliza's 9 children, seven of them died in NB, only Howard and his brother Charles are elusive to me. Thanks again for the help. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jared Handspicker More pieces... >From Maine Marriage records: Groom's Name: Crawford Howard Groom's Residence: Waterville, ME Bride's Name: Neal Mary Bride's Residence: Waterville, ME Marriage Date: 5 Mar 1919 Certificate: 0 Groom's Name: Crawford Howard Groom's Residence: Waterville, ME Bride's Name: Stevens May Bride's Residence: Waterville, ME Marriage Date: 5 Mar 1919 Certificate: 0 This fits with known info about "May"'s first marriage to Mr. Stevens. The 1919 marriage record that can be viewed, shows additional information that helps make this a NEAR perfect match: Howard Crawford m. May Stevens He was 33, she 23 Oddly, it shows his POB as East Lynn, MA, and hers as Fairfield (ME?) His first marriage, her second (widowed), so surely Florence was adopted? He listed his father as Joseph, also b. Lynn, MA, deceased. His mother listed as Eliza Rounds (or Pounds), also deceased, also b. Lynn, MA. She listed her parents as Harry neal, deceased, of Benton, ME, and Mary Allen, deceased, of Waterville, ME. So, I checked Lynn, MA records, for any Howard Crawford b. @1885. NOTHING! And, aside from 1920 census, nothing that matches, either. So, he MAY have been a bit of a trickster, or was trying to appear as if he was a US Citizen, when, in fact, he may not have yet been so! NOW, if we KNOW who Joseph married, and Eliza was a ROUNDS or POUNDS, and that fits the couple in NB, then I think a stronger case can now be made that your Howard emigrated around 1910 to the US, settling in ME, and died around 1951. and all the other data points previously mentioned.
