Pierre Vita dit Belair m Josephine Fontaine at St-Bernard, Lacolle, Quebec, 14-Nov-1865. Pierre was of St. Thomas de Foucault, s/o Jean Marie Vita dit Belair and Olive Grenier of St. Thomas. Josephine was also of St. Thomas, d/o Augustin Fontaine and Scholastique Pelletier dit Antaithe? de St Thomas de Foucault. (Saint-Thomas-de-Foucault) Some records indicated that they had married 04-Nov-1865 at St-Valentin, but above information if from St-Bernard records. Perhaps the 04-Nov date was a publication of banns or a bond date? Children: Pierre Israel or Isaiah Vita Belair, bapt. 08-Aug-1869, St-Bernard, Lacolle (apparently a Jr., since father shown also as Pierre Israel/Isaiah. Charles Belair dit Vita bapt. (b. the 8th?) 19-Jan-1868, St-Bernard, parents shown as Pierre Belair dit Vita and Josphine Lafontaine of St. Thomas de Foucault. 1881 Canada Census for St-Thomas, Missisquoi, Quebec: Peter Belair, m, 36 Josephine Belair, f. 32 Peter Belair, Jr., m, 12 Ella Belair, f, 6 Melinda Belair, f, 3 MAY have been a Harmidase? b. @1886, if the Peter/Pierre b. 1870-ish ended up in Clinton, NY by 1905. A Marie Meline Belair, b. 17-Dec-1878, bapt. 24-Dec-1878at St-Valentin parents listed as Pierre Belair and Josephine "Pontaine". Had no luck finding Ella, or the family in 1891 census. Josephine b. Josephine Fontaine, bapt. St-Bernard, Lacolle, 02-Dec-1850. Born the 12th of November. s/o Augustin Fontaine and Scholastique Pelletier of the parish of St. Georges.
