I am searching for the marriage of William Hickey s/o Edward Hickey and Angelique Lapointe, and Bridget Toner who would have been married about 1862. The only birth date I have for William is 1843. Bridget was born 1929 according to the 1871 census and died 21 September 1873. Have not been able to find her parents. William married Marie LeGouffe d/o Pierre Felix LeGouffe and Marie Louise Comeau 16 June 1874 at Dalhousie, Restigouche. From information in the LeGouffe Genealogy book by Sister Blanche LeCouffe, they settled in the Nash Creek area. On the 1871 census William age 26 and Bridget age 40 were living at Durham, Restigouche along with children Dennis 12; Francis 8; William 6; Margaret 2 and Joseph 3/12 On the 1881 census William and Marie (Mary) were living with John Hickie and wife Margaret at Durham, Restigouche.along with children Dennis 18; Francis 15; Margaret 12; Mary E. 9; Edward 7; and William 2. I have been told that they left Canada after 1891 and moved to Maine. Apparently Alexander and Stephen died in the 1960's in Kennebec according to the U.S. Social Security Death Index.
