The book that I have is for Saint John City and County from the British Conquest to 1839, and published by Holland House, Inc., Saint John, NB. I found no references to either a Joseph Andrews and anyone with the surname Armour; nor any references to a John Lee Olive. There are records for John Andrews, William Olive, James Olive, James Olive, 3rd, and Isaac Olive, Jr. Margaret Leary Seattle, WA On 3/25/2011 5:13 AM, John Cordes wrote: > Hello, > > I was not aware of this book, and am wondering how > comprehensive it may be. > > I have tried very hard to search for a marriage record for my > gg-grandparents Joseph Andrews and Jean/Jane Armour; my > searches were mostly in records at the archives in > Fredericton. Hi Margaret, Thanks very much for giving it a try -- this is greatly appreciated. I don't believe the John Andrews name is of my family. I only mentioned the name of Jane Andrews, who married John Lee Olive, because she was the earliest child for whom I have a record. My own great-grandmother was Annie Andrews, born 1850 in Saint John to Joseph Andrews and Jane Armour. Depending on how comprehensive the book may be, this increases the likelihood that Joseph Andrews and Jane Armour may have married in Ireland before coming to New Brunswick. It's back to banging against the brick wall for me, I'm afraid.
