Hi Carla I believe George William Briggs and John Briggs are brothers; sons of John and Catherine Briggs of Wickham, Queens. John Briggs dies between 1861-1871 and Catherine remarries. Here is the 1851 and 1861 Census for them. I am not sure why their older children were not enumerated in 1861.
