I'm sure you have already checked this out but just in case . . . there are nine Day Loyalists listed in Esther Clark Wright's "The Loyalists of New Brunswick". Based on the Index to Land Grants (see: http://archives.gnb.ca/APPS/GovRecs/RS108/Search.aspx?culture=en-CA) it would appear two, John and William, had applied for land grants in Carleton County prior to 1835 although there is no indication on-line that they actually received land grants in that county. -----Original Message----- From: newbrunswick-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:newbrunswick-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of AE palmer Sent: September-15-11 10:41 PM To: NEW BRUNSWICK 1 rootsweb Subject: Re: [ NB ] Day, Rhoda Ann On 15/09/2011 6:15 PM, "Jim Roaix" <jerx42@hughes.net> wrote: > Still seeking the lineage of Rhoda Ann DAY, supposedly born at Hartland, > Brighton, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada in 1818. > > Rhoda married Abraham STOCKFORD on 21 Nov 1835, also suposedly at Hartland, > Brighton, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada. > > Witnesses at the wedding ceremony of Abraham & Rhoda were: > > Job S. If NJ rings any bells, chances are it would be Bergen County as it was a hotly contested no mans land for the better part of the war. This would be especially true if the lineage happened to have any dutch lineage. You might check into the DeLancy papers as well. My $0.02.
