Hi Dick - Ancestry trees shows the following: Alfred Aube & 1. Marie Anna Blais 2. Elizabeth Theriault Augustin Aube & Sara Boudreau Jean Baptiste Aube & Marie Louise Pouliot Augustin Aube & Marie Anne Lemieux Andre Aube & Genevieve Fradet Henrick Aube Obee & Agnes Cloes Hendrick Hendrickzen Obee (Amsterdam to New York) & Aeltje Claes Hendrick Obee As for Agnes Aube, her marriage record (I would think most of the records you're looking for) is on Ancestry's Drouin Collection). It does not give parents the witnesses were Marcel Theriault & Echate? Aube. (Georges has been transcribed as Joseph Lherault). Gravestone for Georges & Agnes + marriage record http://acanadianfamily.com/2009/09/22/a-canadian-family-headstone-george-theriault/ The New Brunswick Archives has Agnes's death record - should have her parents' names. I believe a "prisoner within the line " was a soldier who had been found guilty of an offence (disobedience, theft), but continued to serve (on "Defaulters") with his company. A prisoner "outside the line" was a guilty soldier who had been removed from combat and either incarcerated or held in chains in the rear (in "Jankers") awaiting severe punishment fro some other cfinme (desertion, striking an officer). If your man had run off to get married while serving as a prisoner "within the lines," he would soon find himself as a prisoner "outside the lines" if he had been caught, or returned of his own volition. When looking at the British muster rolls of the Revolutionary War of 1775 - 1782, I find a number of notations of "Prisoner within the line" or "Prisoner without the line". In the case at point, a British soldier was cited as "Prisoner within the line" in one muster roll, and "Prisoner without the line" in the next muster roll. In between the two muster rolls, he was married. Does anyone know the official meanings of the "Prisoner" statements? Fred

Hi Louise: Many thanks for your interest in my quest for information. It doesn't appear that Carroll Hickey shows up in any of my research at this time but I will keep it in mind. I have now found the death of William Hickey, who was a gardener, in Gardiner, Kennebec, Maine. He died in 1922. According to the 1900 census, he immigrated in 1890 with his family and was in Gardiner until the time of his death. Thanks again. Much appreciated. Hello, I'm a former Eastporter, (Eastport, Maine), and there used to be a family of Hickey's that owned a shoe store there when I was a child, Carroll Hickey was the man's name and I thnk that his wife's name might have been Ada, not sure, I have some cousin's still there and they are checking it for me. The Hickey's then several years later owned a gift shop in Whiting, Maine, called the "Puffin Pig". Not sure if this may be helpful or not, but it may be another trace to something. Now I have confirmation that they did go to Maine. I will check the 1900 census for the family group.
