    1. [ NB ] Wedding date for Charles A. Fleet
    2. Walter R. Fleet
    3. Good evening list, Could anyone tell me how I might get an announcement of a wedding on July 1, 1894 in Fredericton. I am looking for the wedding of Charles A. Fleet and Maggie Wisely Segee. PANB says they were married October 4, 1894 which is wrong, even though they have the signed wedding certificate of the minister. Could he have waited over three months to file the certificate? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Walter Fleet in PA

So, unless that was a neighborhood of First Nations people, they were all just native Canadians, with a lower case "n." -- Jim Roaix 605 W Shawnee Street Tahlequah OK 74464 918-207-0093 jerx42@hughes.net http://web.me.com/jerx/Neolithic_Sculpture/About_the_Artist.html

    3. I agree Bonny, as I have gone through the census records, the word native has invariably meant "born in NB". Looking at other names on the page or pages you can see the difference. .... anyway families living in Saint John with a lot of Patrick, Jeremiah, Timothy etc and last Irish names born "native" would be hard to construe as indigenous. 3. I believe that while First Nation natives are also born in the area and therefore listed as native on the census, it does not mean that all folks listed as natives on the census are actually First Nation people. They are really referring to two different things. The census is referring to 'native born' residents to distinguish them from immigrants to the area. It is confusing though because the words we use today to refer to our Aboriginal peoples (or First Nation peoples) contains the same word 'native' and used for the same reason. So Native Canadians are likely 'native' to the area but not all folks that are 'native' to the area are Native Canadians. Rosemary -----Original Message----- From: VIRGINIA A. Her last few days were filled with much pain. But through it all she had a great faith in the Lord. In 1898 she married Mr. David A. Corkham who passed to his rest many years ago. Mr. Corkham was a licensed SDA minister and school teacher as well. Sister Corkham was a woman of great faith and mighty in the Scriptures. Words of comfort were spoken by the writer, who was assisted by a Baptist minister, Pastor Arthur Shepard, a nephew to Mrs. Corkham. Sister Corkham is laid to rest in the little Adventist burial grounds in Barnesville, N.B., to await the Lord's return and receive from Him the promise of eternal life. ELOSA N. Brother Corkham was the first convert to present truth in the Maritime Provinces. His conversion was the result of the efforts of Elder J.R. Israel. He at once began to tell others of the message so dear to him, and a short time before his death counted seventy persons who had accepted the truth through his labors. His first wife, Sadie A. Simpson, died in 1891. In 1898, he was married to Nellie A. Brown, who, with their five children, is left to mourn. THOMAS ROWE

    3. I recently reviewed my family tree from Queens County at Ancestry. I found authors who had tidbits of information from my research and then others who had copied from them. The result was a cannibolization of family units. I am able to determine who originated what because of my extensive database. But it is crazy for others not in the family to simply copy. What a mess! We need to take more pride in what we publish. Over the years it has been apparent that this website was instrumental in breaking down many researchers' brick walls. In fact many folks have travelled to cemeteries which are onboard, to physically observe the grave markers. Please note that on some cemeteries we have included the contact information for the township, town or village cemetery "record holders". * 3. If you don't see a Community and its' cemeteries online...it means a volunteer has not photographed and sent us the cemetery photographs. Can you or some of your family or friends help out by photographing your local cemeteries....? * * FEEDBACK ******* * We are always interested in feedback from Visitors to the website.
