Thanks for your interest, Marilyn and Shirley. I had a copy of Louise's obituary. She is the the sister of the George (Harry) Barrett that I am interested in. Unfortunately, all siblings of this family are now deceased except Irene, the youngest member of the family. In my view, it is quite probable that the George H. Barrett cited in the "Last Post Death Notice" is the same person. A bit more information should be found to be sure, though. Hi Elenore, Nancy can (but not always) be a nickname for the English name of Ann(e). Have you been able to trace their children and find where they've been buried? Lazare & Nancy could be buried in the same cemetery as one of them which could lead to a death date, maybe obits and maybe a Quebec death record which might give Nancy's parents. Kind of backwards but sometimes it does work. Shirley
I am looking for the marriage of William Aube (Aubey) to Christine Doucet. I would like to know who his parents were. Her parents were Pierre and Helene Vienneau and she can be found being married to Francis McLearn, as a widow, Aug 12, 1913 in Bathurst, N.B. Thanks Dick Aubé
Hi Shirley: I found Lazare (Sazar) Leblanc age 32 with wife Nancy on the 1881 census Dalhousie, Restigouche,NB Children were Rose 6, Agness 5, Joseph 4 and Mary 2. Nancy and children births were given as NB. Lazare Leblanc was born the 24 of May 1849 and baptized at Carleton, QC on the 29th. of May. By 1901 census they were living at Restigouche, Bonaventure,QC and were still there in 1911. I have found no death dates for either Lazare or Nancy. I was looking through some of the Droiun records for Carleton and did find a baptism for an Agnes Leblanc, d/o Lazare and Elisabeth Marcoux, in 1875 and a Rose Leblanc 5 Nov 1873, d/o Lazare and Anastasie Marcoux. Was Nancy a nick name for something else? The dates would coincide with the ages on the census records. I will need to go through the baptisms on the Dalhousie film that I have at the FHC but all the readers were in use today. Thanks for any help Elenore At 07:45 AM 5/3/2011, you wrote: >Hi Elenore, > >What do you know abt Nancy - censuses, etc. >Lazare's place & date of death? I am searching for the parents of Nancy Marcoux/Marcot who married Lazare Leblanc s/o Joseph Leblanc and Angelique Guillot/Diotte 13 Jan 1873 at Dalhousie, NB. I have checked the only film I could find at FHC for Dalhousie and it lists the marriage but does not give any parents names. The witnesses were Thomas Leblanc (I believe that could be his brother) and a Christine Marcoux. Any help would be appreciated Elenore Kamloops, B.C.

Hi! John Thanks for your reply. Knowing the split numbers from the left entries to the right entries is so great to have. I can't imagine why Ancestry or the Drouin people would have done such a thing. I am trying to research the Gloucester compte area of N.B. (1888-1919 marriages). My delima is that it seems that pages 1 through 249 are of the right hand side of the marriage records while pages 250 through 270 are from the left. Where are the other left hand side records with male names? Thanks! John. I was able to find the information from John Chamberlain. I wish this would have worked but it seems that this is for the records from St. Jean and I am looking at records of Gloucester, compté 1888-1919. Although I went in steps of twenty five images at a time, to try to determine where there might be a break, it seems that images 1 through 249 are from the right side of the marriage register while images 250 through 270 are from the left. Quite an inbalance I would say. Sorry about the date; John Cordes is correct - it's 17 Apr 2008, not 27 Apr 2008. This would be the Acadia French Catholic Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1670-1946 - St-Jean marriage entries. on Ancestry.com. As noted elsewhere, it is not just Catholic Church records, but from all churches so far transcribed. Are you referring to the Drouin Collection? If so, check this list's New Brunswick archives for a post from John Chamberlain, 27 Apr 2008 11:28:48 -600. He created a table to help find the second page for the records on the first page. It worked for me at the time with minor adjustments. Hello Bev Guy, I am going thru some old emails and came across yours that I had saved. You had mentioned that you would willing to write a short, simple description religious mind-set of these new settlers with a view to encouraging in put from other viewers, hopefully including passed down family lore,to describe the settlers huge and abiding faith in the church according to the time period. It might prove to be quite controversial! If this offer still stands I would be very interested and happy to add it to my web site with your name associated to the article. I too have been researching my ancestors for over twenty years, both paternal and maternal. They settled in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and some later in P.E.I. The Ross patriarchs originated in the Isle of Skye, Scotland, emigrating in 1828 to Cape Breton (paternal) plus their spouses ie Tupper (Mayflower 3rd generation planters to N.S. in 1760) and Scotland, England and Ireland (maternal) emigrating directly from the UK (1827) or were mostly UELs from New England to Kings Co., New Brunswick in 1783. My interest in your website does not include a category which I think is extremely important to much of our early ancestral emigration ie religion and the importance of building a church as soon as possible after food and shelter were at least basically looked after. I would be willing to write a short, simple description of the religious mind-set of these new settlers with a view to encouraging input from other viewers, hopefully including passed down family lore, to describe the settlers huge and abiding faith in the church according to the time period. It might prove to be quite controversial! Cheers, Bev Guy Beverly H "You can have everything.
