Darlene & NB Listers: I am not a Theall researcher; but I do have some data about a THEALL Family on an outer Twig of my Family Tree that I think are highly likely to be part of your line. I am a MOSELEY-TILTON researcher. Most of the first part of the data come from the 1881 birthday writings of BARNABAS TILTON who was born in 1801 at Shirley Point, Boston Harbour, North End Boston Mass., USA near the area once occupied by the wharves of the International Steam Ship Company. Barnabas Tilton died on 31 Jan. 1891 at his mansion, "Falls Side", in Lancaster Heights (now Saint John), New Brunswick. He wrote that he immigrated to Canada alone in 1815 in the sloop "Leonard" to join his older brothers, James & William in Halifax. He wrote that 100 ships left Boston Harbour for Canada that same day. Barnabas was one of the five children of William TILTON, (1760-1820) who had been the Chief Harbour Pilot, Boston Harbour, and is buried in The Christ Church Yard in Cambridge, Mass. & Hannah PUTNAM born btw 1768 and 1770, died 11 Nov. 1808 and is buried in Copp's Hill Cemetery in Boston, Mass. My parents saw the headstone at Copp's in the 1960's. Hannah was a niece of General Israel PUTNAM, who fought at Bunker Hill and was 2nd in Command of the Army under General George Washington (later President). Barnabas wrote about all the excitement when General Washington and an Aide visited the Tiltons' home. My great-great-grandmother was Sarah Ann TILTON. the elder of Barnabas' two sisters . Sarah was born in 1795 at home at Shirley Point & died on 29 Sept 1836 in Halifax. She emigrated from Boston in 1817 to Halifax with her husband, the Halifax (Richmond) Harbour Shipyard owner & shipbuilder-designer, Phineas Holden MOSELEY who was born 17 Feb 1778 in Dorchester, Mass. & died 5 Oct 1837 in Halifax. They were the parents of Ebenezer MOSELEY who inherited the 1st Moseley Shipyard and had shipyards at LaHave and Dartmouth. He was Nova Scotia's first Marine Architect, most prolific (sail) ship designer and first racer, with brother Henry Moseley, in the sloop "Whisper" (that Eben designed & they built) to win the Prince of Wales Cup in Nova Scotia. In 1824 in Saint John, NB, Barnabas Tilton married Millicent (1) Maria THEALL who was born in 1803 and died after child- birth on 12 November 1824. The child, a daughter, was named Millicent (2) Theall Tilton. My records show only that Millicent (2) married and "moved out West". My records show that Millicent (1) was the daughter of Tertullus Theall and unk wife and that there was another daughter born in 1801 - name unknown. I have 22 pages of Barnabas' writings. I can't dig then out right now. I remember he described going to the Theall house on Sundays and I think he wrote that old Mr. Theall was amongst the early Loyalist settlers in Saint John - but don't quote me on that one. It's something you probably can search successfully. Please send me a reminder in Feb. and I'll get out my data. Between Xmas and house renovations this is the best I can do right now. It's + 10C in Ottawa. The grass is green. We're still hoping for a white Christmas. Happy holidays to all. Hi I am trying to track the Wallaces in NB; my gggrandmother, Harriet (Wallace) Donaldson ( w/o William) came to NB in 1838, and I have wondered of she had family there. Other Wallaces do turn up in censuses etc but I have no other information. I do know Harroet s father and siblings in Northern Ireland, if anybody knows more perhaps we could pool our info and see if they match! Hi List. Seeing the Vail name mentioned in a couple of posts made me think to ask if anyone has any information on the family of: Edith Douglas WALLACE. She was the daughter of Howard Douglas WALLACE and Ida Estelle DAYE of St. George, Charlotte Co. and the granddaughter of William Benjamin and Lydia Ann (McLEOD) DAYE of Saint John. Edith Douglas WALLACE married Roswell Vail ARNOLD in August 1917. He was a son of Oliver Roswell ARNOLD and Helen VAIL. Edith's father, Howard Douglas WALLACE, died in 1889 (a week after her birth) and I have been unable to find out anything about his parents, siblings, etc. Is anyone pursuing the WALLACE family who may be able to enlighten me about this man's history? As well, is there anyone descended from the WALLACE/VAIL families who might have further information on Edith's grandparents, William Benjamin and Lydia Ann (McLEOD) DAYE? I have a lot of information about this branch of the DAYE family and would happily share. I am, however, specifically interested in documentation and/or photographs concerning this family. I hope that Santa spoils you all at Christmas and that you have a happy and healthy 2007. Cheers! I am very mystified by this James Oregon Miller and his first wife, Isadora/Dora Bush, and their children. When Dora dies, he marries again to Sarah Kennedy. Does anyone know where he is in the 1880/1881 census? In Canada, in the States somewhere. ?? Perhaps Isadora was not his first wife, but his second ?? ..making Sarah Kennedy his third wife ? Any help is greatly appreciated. Sara
