    3. Bill: You are correct I made an error in the date which should read 9 January 1890 in the death of Mr. Milton and not 9 January 1877, however, the obit stated his name as Harvie Milton of Port Grenville, N.S. Thanks for bringing the date of accident to my attention. Harvie Milton the mate, 22 years of age and belonged to Port Grenville, N.S., was struck by the boom and knocked overboard. The accident was noticed by Capt. 1. [ NB ] Salmon River (Sussex)
    2. Diane McLeod
    3. Happy new year, list! My ancestor, Jonas Culver, was granted land along the Salmon River in Sussex Parish but I'll be darned if I can find it on any map, old or new. I seem to recall that the name of the river you cross as you drive into the town of Sussex is the Salmon River but it's been a few years now and the memory is failing... Can anyone give me a rough idea of where this river is and where it starts and ends? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. He married Elizabeth Rathburn (Burke) 1/6/1863. They had a son Frederick who married Cynthia Twombly. They are in the 1900 census in Bartlett living with Frederick & Cynthia in Bartlett, NH, USA but Elizabeth died in 1900 and Nathan died in 1901. 3. Hi, I am looking for any information on Eliner DeLONG. She was born about 1857. She married a Levi McCOMBER/McCUMBER. According to the online 1881 census they had the following family. Mina J.McCOMBER, born about 1875 David W.McCOMBER, born about 1877 Allice R. McCOMBER, born about 1879 I would like to find out about Eliner's parents, siblings, etc. I believe Allice R. is my husband's great grandmother. She married a John Percy BLAIR. She is listed on the PANB as Alice Rachel McCOMBER/McCUMBER. Many thanks in advance. Cindy Donovan Truro, Nova Scotia

Dear Wayne, I cannot be sure, as every family had an Elizabeth, Ann or Jane, but I suspect the Elizabeth Wheaton who married Nathan Delong in 1856, is Elizabeth, born 1830, Wickham, daughter of Charles Wheaton and Hannah London. No proof, and I can't find anything on Nathan Delong to check it out further. Lisa Z

According to my research the Free Baptist Church in Woodstock now called Woodstock United Baptist Church began with an Organizational Meeting August 22, 1834, when a little group of ten members met. The organization was effected under the leadership of Elder Samuel Hartt, ably assisted by Elders Charles McMullen and William E. Pennington. (Elder Samuel Hartt was my gt gt grandfather.) I visited the church in June of 2004 and took a picture of the plaque on the wall. This is what it said. Organized 1834 by Rev. Sam'l Hartt. Members: Simon Baker Samuel Raymond Amos C. 3. Hello, Would anyone be able to tell me about the Baptist Church in Woodstock, Carleton in the mid 1800s? An ancestor, William Blake, son of Henry Blake, was a deacon there in the 1850s. A child from Henry's previous marriage was married in the Presbyterian church, so my question is to when Henry was baptized. When did the Baptist church come to Carleton County? In the same vein, when did it establish itself in the Charlotte County? 3. Dear Darlene, The Wheatons, Whetens, etc.. were very elusive, especially Ephraim's family. Mary London had a sister, Hannah London, who married Charles Wheaton in Greenwich in 1819. In researching these people, there are clearly two Ephraim Wheaton's, of the same approximate age, living at the same time. The other Ephraim Wheaton raised his family in Saint John. I believe he may have been a physician. Charles Wheaton, husband of Hannah London, is just as elusive as Ephraim, but lived in Queens County. Don't get those Ephraim's confused! Lisa Z
