Hi Brian & Madalyn Sheffar, I see there was a good deal of interest in your newspaper extracts, including one reply that you might simply want to post to the Message Board. If you would still like to make your extracts available on the list please send your scanned attachments to my malcolm@archivecdbooks.ca address and I will see if they can be OCRed so that I can post the text of their contents onto the list in your name. If it turns out that I can't OCR doesn't work - it doesn't always, it depends on how good the scans are - I will post your scans on the free downloads page of our web site and give the list the address where they can read or download them for themselves. maybe one was her first married name and the other is her maiden name cheyrl
Ruby was previously married. I don't know an easy way to identify which was her maiden name, except to do a search for her and hope her other marriage is also shown to either a Jordan or Wellington. Maybe someone has a better suggestion? Is the first marriage listed always her first? All I am seeking direction in how to organize my new found data from Daniel F. Johnson¹s ³Index of New Brunswick Newspapers² in Reunion v8 (Mac only). Since Reunion allows me to modify and create source types, I believe it is possible to make more efficient use of the source-citation process than a straight one-to-one coupling. (BTW, Dan Johnson¹s Index is a super source of material for those interested in New Brunswick, Canada material.) My database contains: * 299 records * 22 newspapers * More than 100 volumes It should be further noted that any one record can and frequently does contain more than one name of interest. The data collected for each record contains the following fields: * Newspaper * Place (town or city) * County, Date (of publication) * Volume number * Reference number * {A derived) list of important names * The actual text from the article Since all 299 entries refer to ONE source that of Daniel¹s index - it seems logical to group the information such that I do not have 299 sources. But how? Should I organize it by paper? Or volume? If not either, what? Comments and suggestions welcome. Hi Madalyn, You can post jpgs on the New Brunswick BOARD. The mailing list doesn't accept attachments/jpgs. The Board is at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.canada.newbrunswick Good luck, Marilyn ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ madalyn sheffar wrote: > I thought I would like to post them on this list but don't know the best way to do it. Hi; Thank you for the Obit. I was greatly appreciated! John, Connecticut
When going through Mum's things after her death, I found an old Moncton Daily Times dated 15 August 1945. It had several articles listing returning soldiers. I thought I would like to post them on this list but don't know the best way to do it. I scanned them as jpegs but can't find a place on Rootsweb to post them. Anyone got any ideas? Is there anyone on the list researching the Whittaker family from NB. I would like to find more information on George H. McKay married to Mary A. Whittaker 1892/09/12. Their son, George Ronald was born 1893/07/22. Thank you.
Hey folks, For any of you who happen to have Hanselpacker connections, and many of you who don't, I have recently updated my online database. It's a new look and feel, one that I happen to like, even though I've yet to master some of the style sheet issues and therefore have NOT yet included the many pictures that will, eventually, find their way to those pages. I have left the original database intact, which is still reachable via: http://www.jedh.com/src/genealogy/hpkr/ The new one is at: http://www.jedh.com/src/genealogy/hpkr2/INDEX.HTM What's the difference you ask? Well, aside from look and feel, and navigation differences, there are an additional 7,000 individuals listed, among more than 3,000 additional families to my last update, a couple of years ago. Looking forward to hearing from you with both types of opinions... :-) Jared "Jed" Handspicker jedh@jedh.com Jared "Jed" Handspicker jedh@jedh.com ------------------------ One Less E-mail To Answer!
