    3. Hi List, Madalyn sent me the WW2 returning service men clippings and here are the results: One of the scans responded well to OCR and with a few hand corrections I think it is pretty accurate. I've copied it below. The other "airmen" was a little too fuzzy to OCR well. Still quite readable so I have put the scans of both clippings on our free downloads page for you to access: Go to: http://www.archivecdbooks.ca/downloads.html and scroll down till you find "News Clippings" near the bottom. Click on the "Download (X KB)" to see the scanned clipping. Use your browser's "Save as" to keep a copy for yourself. OCRed text of "Soldiers" clipping: N. B. 3. You don't have to be a Mac user or limited to Family Reunion to record source references the way Betty Ann described. I use a Dell PC running Legacy Deluxe, and that program has beautifully clear provisions for recording sources in the same manner as she described. Every scrap of information can be documented. 3. Hi Arnold I am also a Mac user and utilize Reunion as my gen. program. For sources such as Dan's, specific web sites, authors, reference books, or vitals from one area like PANB, etc. that I use frequently, I use the source type that is most closely related to the identity of the source I wish to reference, ie: a PANB birth, marriage or death vitals record, and fill it in as a generic reference to that basic source with the details as to where it is located and can be contacted. Then, after inserting that source citation on a person sheet, you will find a section that is entitled Details . That is where I then enter the reference information specific to that particular source document for that specific person. I find this process eliminates multiple references to the same source location and the source types are much easier to locate each time new information is received. Clear as mud??? ;-) If you have a problem following my explanation, feel free to email me off line and I will attach an example of what I am trying to describe. Good Luck!! Did you ever get in touch with Jeff Legere. I could not open his e-mail as he was listed as "hidden". The Wheaton/Whetons are starting to shape up into a line!! And you are to have the credit for pushing it along--with Steven's help. I've been working in New York on some early census records--interesting to find many of "our" names in Westchester County 1660--1700 including Theall and Wright. and before 1800 the Sears, Quintard, Wetmore and others show up. Hang in and I will get back.
