    1. [ NB ] Bazzley/Bazley and Steeves
    2. Wanda Powell
    3. Looking for any information on the Bazzley / Bazley families of Hillsborough, Albert, NB what happened to them. In the 1851 census it was spelled Bazzley children of William Donaldson Bazzley b: abt. 1778 NY which I'm assuming means NY since he was a loyalist and married Alice Henaby Crossman b: abt: 1784 Nova Scotia. In this census it states William is of German descent and Alice of Irish in the next census the name has changed to Bazley and it states of English descent. Children that I've found are William Donaldson Bazzley 2nd b: 1812 married Elizabeth Steeves daughter of Samuel and Ann (Jones) Steeves, John Bazzley b: 1815 married Mary Ann? Jane Bazzley b: 1821 and David Bazzley b: 1820 married Margaret ? b: 1825 NS. David and Margaret are the couple I'm most interested in and their children. Any information on Margaret's maiden name and who her parents were? David died 20 Feb 1889 buried Beech Hill, Margaret died 21 Mar 1913 assume she is buried same? Can not find her in the latter census either. Though I would like to know of any of their children am most interested in their daughter Mary Jane Bazley known as (Jannie) b: 1846 she marries 24 Feb 1866 to Elias Keith Steeves which we have his birth and death date but no death date on "Jannie" Mary Jane (Bazley) Steeves. Their daughter Nora Steeves who marries David Fraser b: 15 Jul 1867 Nova Scotia are my great grandparents. Nora b: 10 Mar 1871 Hillsborough, NB married 15 Jun 1892 Cambridge, Middlesex, MA (not Salem) what is really weird on both Nora's marriage and death record it states her father is John Steeves. We could understand Nora's sister Maude making this mistake since she filled out the Nora's death record and Jannie was pregnant with Maude when Elias died. But why would Nora add John as her father on her marriage record, did Mary Jane remarry a John Steeves? Mary Jane is a widow in the 1881 census but can not find her in latter census anyone have any information on this group? Thank you Wanda -- No virus found in this outgoing message. 1. [ NB ] Canadian Border Crossings
    2. polly shaw
    3. I don't see any border crossings on this Steve Morse site. I see a lot of info about ships coming to different ports. Most of the site is just another bunch of click, click to Amazon.com with its hand out for money for its very inaccurate records. My father came across the border from NB to ME in 1907 in a WAGON. Now, I would like to see some border crossing info documenting that. Am I missing something? -- polly shaw

    3. I don't know of any place where you can view this census online, but if you are willing to do the work of searching it, you can borrow it on microfiolm through any LDS Family History Center that may be near you. That's what I had to do. Good luck!! (And I seem to remember that parts of it were only agricultural, they didn't list all the members of a family.) > Message: 11 > Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2007 16:53:21 -0400 > From: "david soule" <daithi@maine.rr.com> > Subject: [ NB ] 1861 > To: "Nova Scotia" <NOVA-SCOTIA-L@rootsweb.com>, > <NewBrunswick-L@rootsweb.com> > Message-ID: <00d801c773d6$9ea81680$8ebc414a@home> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" > > What are my chances of ever getting information for this census year? > david >> > ------------------------------

    1. [ NB ] Roots to the Past Genealogy Column Seeking Queries
    2. Diana Lynn Tibert
    3. Good Saturday morning to everyone. This week, I submitted my last query for the two New Brunswick newspapers - Kings County Record, Sussex and Times & Transcript, Moncton - where my Roots to the Past genealogy column is published. If you have a query for the province, now is a good time to submit. See below on query guidelines. Please, contact me off the list to submit queries. Thank you, Diana Diana Lynn Tibert Roots to the Past website: http://thefamilyattic.info/Roots.html Last Updated: March 26, 2007 --------------- How to Submit a Query to the "Researcher's File" When submitting queries, ask one specific question. For example, 'Who were Jane Baker's parents?' or 'Looking for information on the Bennett family of Moncton.' Add information that will help identify the person such as date and place of birth, and names of parents, spouses and siblings. Use the date format, May 23, 1897, to leave no question about the day and month. Queries can be up to 35 words not including contact information. Include a mailing address and an email address. NOTE: Read some of the queries posted on the website to learn more about the format. Send Queries with the Subject Line "Researcher's File" to: Diana Lynn Tibert: tibert@ns.sympatico.ca Unfortunately, time does not permit me to research the family trees of others, but I hope by posting queries, I will help knock down brick walls and extend the branches of the tree. Please, submit queries in the body of an email. Do not submit using attachments.

The appalling disregard that the Military High Command had for the lives of the Rank and File, is highlighted, once again, at the following website; http://www.shotatdawn.org.uk/index.html The story told here, is not for the "faint of heart". 3. Hello folks, I am trying to find further family connections for my great grandparents: Hannah Tompkins (b) abt. 1838 in New Brunswick Province that married Nicholas Minard Shannon May 9, 1860 in Addington Co., Ontario. Hannah and N. M. lived in Thamesville, Kent Co. abt. Feb,1869 where my grandfather George Shannon was born. They then moved to the Napanee, Lennox & Addington Co. area in early June, 1869 where N. M. joined the Royal Orange Institution, Lodge #358 at Napanee. The next information we have on them is that they immigrated through New York to Harwood, Gonzales Co., Texas sometime around 1876 where they settled until their deaths, Hannah in 1906 and N. M. abt. 1897. Any information anyone can offer about other relatives from those areas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Jo Nell Shannon Canova E-mail: txbuttercup@comcast.net
